In light of the nation-wide educational activity “Remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind”, School of Applied Foreign Languages held a “writing camp” activity in the school’s conference room yesterday. To help write in a more productive way, this activity asks that all participants could neither use the Internet nor communicate with each other throughout the process. A few teachers participated in this writing activity and many found it to be meaningful. Effective writing has always been a key ingredient in many faculty members’ professional development. With academic publication becoming a main factor in evaluating school ranking and excellence, it is increasingly valued in higher education settings. This “writing camp” activity marks the beginning of a series of actions to increase the school’s academic impact on both grant writing and academic publication.
